Barry Beck has led by example at every level of the game.
In junior, the New Westminster Bruins advanced to the Memorial Cup during
each of Beckıs three years with the team, losing in the championship game in
the first two years, before winning it all in 1977.
In his final year of junior hockey, Beck was named the Western Hockey League
and Memorial Cup MVP, as well as a first-team all star. A first-round draft
pick (second overall) by the NHL's Colorado Rockies, Beck set NHL records
for goals (22) and points (60) by a rookie defenseman.

He finished second on the Rockies in scoring and was
runner-up to Mike Bossy for the Calder Trophy as the NHLıs top rookie.
After three years in Colorado, Beck was traded to the New York Rangers. He
would spend seven seasons on Broadway, before retiring from the game in
1986. Beck played a very physical game, which unfortunately led to a series
of shoulder injuries that forced his retirement at the age of 29.
Beck played 615 career NHL games, scoring 104 goals and adding 251 assists,
for 355 points. He also had 1,016 minutes in penalties.
Beck added another 10 goals, 23 assists and 77 PIMs in 51 playoff games.
