BC Hockey Hall of Fame Bursary Winner

The BC Hockey Hall of Fame has announced that this year’s winner of the Patricia Carter Bursary is Vernon Viper Defenseman Ben Robinson. A native of Delta BC Ben has been playing in the BCHL for three years.

The Bursary, which is in memory of the first member of the BC Hockey Hall of Fame Society, is given out annually by the BCHHF Society to a person who shows the same qualities that Patricia did. Those qualities being a great perseverance in life and a great dedication towards education.

Ben showed great perseverance towards the game after his season and possibly his career ended last year when he suffered three injuries and a concussion. He missed the entire second half and all the playoffs while getting three separate surgeries to repair both legs and his hand. Ben has also shown great determination towards his education this year completing three courses over the season in which he has been traded twice.

Ben’s name and picture will be added to the case that is home to the Bursary at the BC Hockey Hall of Fame located in Penticton Memorial Arena. He will also be recognized at this years Induction event set for the Penticton Lakeside Resort July 28th. This year’s Induction will include Tom Renney, Bernie Pascall, Ernie Mclean, Doug Bodger, and the late Larry Ashley.
